to be her halloween costume. hurricane sandy put it on hold and she did a wonderful benefit. to help those who needed it. >> she'll be appearing in full facial crystal this morning. >> is she? >> i'm just kidding. >> i'm wearing mine now. >> we'll find out in a little bit. >> just kidding. >> can't you tell. >> to storms slamming the west. sam has the latest on that. >> i mean, five days, you think about it, november 27th, these folks have had back-to-back storms. about 150-mile-per-hour wind gusts in the mountains. even on the shorelines, a good 70, 70-mile-an-hour winds. pictures like this, with trees down. you've had boulders in the middle of the roads. roads closed. flooding, power lines down. when you look at the rainfall totals it's exactly what we expected out of this triple-hit of storms. monterey coming out with more than 18 inches of rain. all the way into the san francisco area, almost 4 inches of rain in that time period. three storms shoving that rain up against the coastline. give that rain a lift and you get the total, 12 to 18 inches of rain as a three-event total in those

today. >>> the affects from hurricane sandy are still being felt on the east coast. the national park service now says it doesn't know when the statue of liberty is going to reopen. much of the infrastructure on liberty and ellis island is damaged. walkways are ripped apart. the sea wall is cracked. the power and heating systems are also damaged. the national park system doesn't yet know how much the row pairs and the clean up will cost. so, lisa, not exactly a hurricane, but you said 70 mile per hour -- >> 80. >> 80 now? >> los gatos, 80 mile-an-hour winds. now the heaviest rain is moving into the south bay. so we are looking at clearing in the north bay and gusty winds on the peninsula, heavy rain in the east bay. as we head out right now this is -- what is this? we are still looking at the east bay hills. wind gusts to 78 miles an hour and an inch and a half in walnut creek earlier this morning. mount de ab -- mount diablo with 60 mile an hour gusts and the cold front continues to march through marin county. here is a look at the golden gate bridge and they are still gusting to 50

to trick or treat tonight. in fact, because of hurricane sandy, new jersey governor chris christie actually cancelled halloween. he tweeted this today. he said, it's just not safe yet to be out trick or treating. so, halloween has officially been postponed until monday. does he really have the authority to -- [ laughter ] -- cancel halloween? this seems very suspicious to me. especially considering the fact that he just posted this photograph on instagram. [ laughter and applause ] i believe he wants all the candy for himself. i'm sure you'll all be happy to know that even though many homes on the jersey shore were destroyed this week, the one that snooki and jwoww lived in is fine. the "jersey shore" house survived the hurricane. unfortunately, so did "the real housewives of new jersey." they're all okay. god had one chance and he blew it.
